Rider Treatments

Horse riding is a sport, requiring functional strength, flexibility and stamina. The body must be able to maintain balance throughout all paces and activities, which requires the rider to remain independently balanced in order to be able to adapt to each movement the horse makes.

As a horse rider, we have a huge impact on our horse’s way of going, yet often we put our horses before ourselves. But, did you know that many of the patterns we see in horses are often rooted in problems in the rider’s body? This may mean that your horse is compensating for your patterns, not the other way around.

Your horse may be dealing with your imbalances whilst trying to perform the activities you ask. Creating a physical challenge for both horse and rider.

That’s why it’s common for Eleanor to treat both horse and rider. Thus ensuring peak performance and improved quality of life and enjoyment for both parties.

How can osteopathy help you—the rider?

Osteopathy utilises the body’s own healing ability. When used effectively in line with patient engagement and lifestyle changes, many common aches and pains (and even minor dis-ease) can be helped successfully.

We treat patients from all walks of life, from newborns to more mature individuals, who present with a wide range of symptoms and injuries. Commonly, many of our patients also have horses, dogs and cats, which is why we tell you about our services here on this site.

We combine structural osteopathic techniques, with functional therapy, cranial osteopathy, biodynamic and visceral osteopathic treatment to help each individual. Everyone is treated in a way that suits their needs and always with care and respect.
